Martin Luther King Middle School | Berkeley, CA

The campus underwent a phased upgrade plan for the seismic upgrade and renovation of the main building and the addition of a new Dining Commons Building. This upgrade included a new boiler plant and energy management system and ADA restroom upgrades. The Dining Commons with a capacity of 500 students provides a dining hall and a commercial kitchen where students can learn new culinary skills and use the organic produce from the school yard. High efficiency boilers, VFD controlled kitchen exhaust fans; heat recovery ventilation units are just some of the many sustainable features used in the building.
