Ford Plant | Richmond, CA

The restoration and preservation of the Ford Assembly Building on the San Francisco Bay waterfront, converted an historic architectural icon and long-vacant auto plant into a current-day model of urban revitalization and sustainability. The 525,000 square foot building was restored to house offices, manufacturing, R&D labs, retail. The Craneway, housing a wide variety of cultural events, The BoilerHouse Restaurant and Rosie the Riveter Museum complement the amenities for both tenants and visitors to the Ford campus. The project was awarded the prestigious 2011 AIA Honor Award. MDS provided full HVAC, Plumbing and infrastructure engineering services.
