Almaden Library and Community Center | San Jose, CA

The 65,000 square foot new joint use library and community center set in an existing city park opened to the public in 2006.

The building wraps around mature redwood trees and the three wings accommodate a full service library, community room, gymnasium , fitness facilities, activity rooms for children, seniors and teens.

Sustainable features include high energy efficiency HVAC systems, low flow plumbing fixtures, green building materials, permeable paving, high efficiency lighting, and maximum daylighting through clerestories and courtyard windows.

MDS provided full HVAC, Plumbing Fire Protection and Energy modeling design services.
