South Berkeley Library | Berkeley, CA

The new 8,700 square foot facility, completed in 2013, is inviting, efficient and flexible. Library patrons enjoy the natural light, adequate space for users of all ages, beautiful artwork expanded seating, internet access throughout the library, a community meeting room and an expanded tool lending library.

Incorporating high efficiency roof top AC units, radiant heating floors, natural ventilation, high efficiency lighting the energy model exceeded Title 24 requirements by 20%.

Other green materials and features makes the library a sustainable building. MDS provided full mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and energy analysis design services
